About The Author

After spending almost ten years as an information systems integrator, I decided upon a new career path towards becoming a pastry chef. To achieve that goal I temporarily relocated from Seattle to New York City in the fall of 2006. I attended the Institute of Culinary Education and graduated May 2007 from both their Pastry & Baking Arts and their Culinary Management programs. While in New York, I spent time in the kitchens at WD-50 (Alex Stupak), Jean-Georges (Johnny Iuzzini), Del Posto (Nicole Kaplan), Gotham Bar & Grill (Deborah Racicot), Gilt (David Carmichael), and Le Bernardin (Michael Laiskonis). In June 2008 my wife and I returned to Seattle where, until February 2009, I was the Pastry Sous Chef at the wonderful Cafe Juanita (Holly Smith) in Kirkland, Washington.

I have temporarily left the kitchen though and am returning to my former career in information technology.  This blog will continue to focus on food, primarily pastry and baking, while I do the corporate thing for a while.
